Deputy president William Ruto has pleaded with Kenyans not to target him on the fight against graft.

The DP who was speaking at a conference in Mombasa during the opening of the First Inter-Professionals Summit said that there is an attempt to paint him in a bad light for political reasons.

“There has been an attempt to hijack the war on corruption and turn it into a war against specific individuals. In the attempt to wage this convoluted version of the war on corruption, many government programmes and projects, as well as many innocent public servants, have become casualties,” Ruto said.

Over the last two months,Ruto allies have claimed that powerful individuals have been trying to taints the DP reputation a head of 2022 election that Ruto will e a candidate.

Led by Kipchumba Morkomen and Nandi Governor Stephen Sang,they have accused former prime minister Raila Odinga of misusing handshake MOU with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Leaders had also accused DCI boss George Kinoti of being used by cartels to fight Ruto.
