Olivier Giroud admits he is ‘frustrated’ with a lack of playing time at Chelsea and could look to leave the club this summer.

The forward has struggled for opportunities this season, having been further pushed down the pecking order by the arrival of Gonzalo Higuain in January.

The 32-year-old has made just six league starts this campaign, scoring one goal, but has been in terrific form in Europe and is the Europa League’s top scorer with nine goals in nine appearances.

Despite his European form, Giroud has failed to establish himself in Maurizio Sarri’s league plans and admits his future may be away from Stamford Bridge.

“Of course it’s frustrating,” Giroud told RTL.

“Today, I have the impression there is clearly no competition [for places in attack] since January.

“It’s like that, I know that I will only play in the Europa League. I try to do what it takes to be as effective and as important as I can for the team.”

“The future may be hectic this summer. I’m not afraid to go down a level to have more playing time. It could be I end my career in France.”
