Kenya’s e-parking platform only helps a driver pay for the parking space they have used, this Australian parking app, Kerb, has so much to offer. The app is looking into creating even more parking space.
With new cars being bought everyday and parking space consequently shrinking, homeowners can now rent out their spare spaces to drivers using a new app, Kerb.
The app, according to the Australian entrepreneurs, will allow people with parking spaces lease it out to motorbike or vehicle drivers or even to helicopters.
Kerb will also be available to churches, schools and other business entities.
Kerb Co-founder, Rob Brown says, “Kerb reduces congestion and environmental impact by getting cars off roads, makes use of existing infrastructure – and means more money for locals to spend in the economy.”
Kerb parking spaces start at Ksh300 a day, depending on where they are located. If leasers prefer long-term users in some car parks, they have the option for the user to pay weekly, or monthly, as a direct debit. The user is then required to give notice to end the lease.
In terms of access, in case boom gates or doors are online, Kerb can trigger them to open via a button on the app which appears to the user when they book. There are other devices like GSM openers which can also be integrated.
Kerb launched in October 2016 and is live across the world in 19 languages and localized in 300 cities.
