Real Madrid are understood to be already planning a raid on Chelsea for Eden Hazard, who is their top forward transfer target.
Zidane’s interest in the Belgium international dates back to his time as a Los Blancos advisor, where he worked under Jose Mourinho.
Real Madrid chose not to sign Hazard on that occasion and, in 2012, it was Chelsea who secured the services of the 27-year-old.
However, Spanish director Eduardo Inda has claimed that Zidane also wants Blues midfielder N’Golo Kante.
The France international has failed to impress under Maurizio Sarri this season.
That, despite the midfielder helping France win the World Cup in Russia back in the summer.
Inda told Ok Diario: “Zidane does not want Casemiro.
“Although he was key in the resurrection of Zidane‘s first Madrid side.
“He wants to sign Kante.”
“Kante may want to look elsewhere but if he’s a little patient, just a tiny bit patient, he may just realise that the person who has been playing him out of position this whole year – Maurizio Sarri – may not be around for too much longer.
“If Chelsea do not make it into the top four and if Chelsea do not win the Europa League, there is very little for Sarri to hang on to.
“Therefore I expect Kante to go back to playing where he is the best in the world, defensive midfield, and staying at Chelsea.
“I don’t think the guy who has made those changes is going to be there too much longer.”
