ADRIEN RABIOT is being kept a “prisoner” at Paris Saint-Germain claims his agent, as the player’s relationship with the club deteriorates further.

The comments were made by the midfielder’s agent Veronique Rabiot, who is also his mother, and are a boost for the multiple Premier League clubs interested in securing his services in the summer.

The 23-year-old, whose deal expires in June, was not satisfied with PSG’s offer to renew his contract.

The fallout from being at a contractual deadlock has also seen Rabiot being forced to train away from the first team.

“My son is a prisoner at PSG,” Veronique Rabiot told L’Equipe.

“The only thing he has asked is to complete his contract and that it is respected.

“They fined him for not traveling to Qatar when his grandmother died and his father was dying.

“He is a hostage.”

Rabiot appeared to be on course to sealing a move to Barcelona, however, it looks as though the Catlan giants have cooled their interest in the central midfielder after agreeing to sign Frankie de Jong from Ajax for £65million.

Arsenal and Chelsea have reportedly already held talks with Rabiot and his mother’s recent claim will only boost their chances of capturing his signature.

United have also entered the mix for the Rabiot, as interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking to strengthen the core of his side.

“There is interest there,” a United source told The Sun.

“His advisers look to be offering him around though.

“The boss is well aware of his ability.

“We are on the lookout for a midfield link player for the long-term.

The relationship between the player, his agent and the Ligue 1 champions has deteriorated to such an extent that Rabiot’s mother even criticised PSG’s treatment of Rabiot in comparison to other players, such as Neymar.

The Brazilian, who is still out injured after breaking a bone in his foot in January, was seen enjoying a carnival in Brazil ahead of PSG’s Champions League second leg tie against Manchester United.

“At PSG they fine players for arriving six minutes late to a team meeting and others, while injured, are allowed to travel around the world and go to carnivals,” she said.

Neymar did make it back to the Parc des Princes to watch from the stands but PSG lost the game 3-1 on the night and the tie on away goals.
