Find permanent solution to drought, Senator Omanga

A Jubilee nominated senator Millicent Omanga has insisted on governmrnt finding a permanent solution to drought.

In her statement Omanga urged political leaders to seize from blaming each other over the crisis instead look for solutions to curb the disaster.

“We all know that the hunger killing Kenyans in different parts of the country is not a new phenomenon. It’s a cycle we see every year. Blame games over the horrendous drought situation in the country won’t help Kenyans who are suffering,” she noted. 

In addition added saying,”Irrigation projects should be embraced since they will help contribute towards improvement of crop productivity and food security,” she stated. 

She warned warned leaders against pretending the problem of hunger in this country won’t be won through pay bills and charitable donations.

“We either do it right or stop the pretence all together otherwise, poor Kenyans will continue suffering and dying of hunger,” she added. 

Her remarks at a time when the country is going through a drought crisis in Turkana.

However the Deputy President William Ruto has insisted that the country has enough food to feed the affected citizens.

He further urged the media to seize from spreading rumours that people had died from drought.
