We Cannot Ignore It! Ruto Angers Kenyans By Claiming Media Is Lying On Hunger Deaths

It is not the first time we are receiving news of people dying of hunger in Turkana. It has been a history that we have embraced as a heritage that Turkana people must die of hunger! Kenyans are bitter!

it is funny how the problem has never found a solution despite having elect government officials and representatives in Turkana and other counties facing the same disaster.

It is Until the media announced that people are dying of hunger in Turkana and other parts of the country that politicians woke up with promises to help the hunger-stricken areas.

Reports by media on death over hunger

To add salt on the wound, they are claiming that the media is wrong and there no death cases over hunger but people are dying from other diseases. What do we say?

On Friday CS Wamalwa said that there is enough food in the country

“We have enough food in our country and no citizen should die from hunger”, Devolution Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa has said.

His comment was not received well. Senator Aaron Cheruiyot slammed him back by a question, what is the food doing in stores?

” there is no shortage of food in the country but people are starving because drought is biting in Turkana, Mandera, Marsabit and Isiolo counties.

DP Ruto who is also never later to comment on emergency issues came out faulting the media over reporting the deaths. As usual, the lies detector detected a lie in the reports and claimed There were no deaths resulting from hunger.

The two Devolution CS and DP Ruto’s remarks did not auger well with Kenyans as they went arms up claiming that we cannot ignore the fact that people are dying of hunger.
