Van Dijk Makes Exciting Mo Salah Prediction, With LFC Top Of The PL & In CL QFs

Virgil van Dijk has urged Mo Salah to keep working hard and promised his team-mate that if he does, the goals will come.

Our Egyptian King is enduring his most barren spell in front of goal since arriving from AS Roma in 2018 – having notched just once in ten matches.

In his place, Sadio Mane has thankfully stepped up and notched 11 in 11, which has enabled us to qualify for the Champions League quarterfinals and keep pace with Manchester City in the title race.

“Mo is a world-class player,” van Dijk told

“People can say all they want but I think all the teams in the Premier League would love to have him in their side. We have him and I think he is playing well.

“The goals will come. That’s something for a striker that is maybe going to be in your head but we tell him every time: you just need to keep working, keep going and you will be fine.

“He’s still scored plenty of goals for us, to be fair, so it’s not like two like me! It is like this.”

We actually don’t think Salah is playing badly – he’s just lacking the ruthless streak that saw him finish nearly every chance during his debut campaign.

Defenders double up on him though, which has helped Mane get time and space to do damage.

We’ve now got to wait for the international break to be over, which might have actually come at a good time for Mo.

So long as nobody gets injured, a break from the pressure of both the competitions we’re in could be good.
