Glorious Stephen Curry beats buzzer from inside own half in Golden State Warriors forfeit to San Antonio Spurs

Golden State Warriors point guard, Stephen Curry made a buzzer-beating shot from inside his own half at the end of the first quarter of the Golden State Warriors’ loss to the San Antonio Spurs.

Curry top-scored for the Warriors with 25 points but he connected on just nine of his 25 shot attempts as the Spurs, propelled by 26 points from DeMar DeRozan, held on for a 111-105 win, their ninth successive victory.

Curry made six of his 16 attempted three-pointers and his first of the game was the most memorable.

The Spurs scored with two seconds remaining in the first quarter to take a 25-22 lead. Shaun Livington inbounded the ball to Curry who, with so little time left on the clock, had no choice but to take a dribble, plant his feet, and launch a desperation heave from inside his own half.

Curry’s shot was arcing through the air as the buzzer sounded and his aim, even from such huge distance from the hoop, proved true.

The ball rattled into the Spurs’ hoop via the backboard to restore parity at the conclusion of the first period.
