Vihiga Queens head coach Alex Alumira has called on Football Kenya Federation to put in place measures to accommodate players who are schooling and at the same time taking part in the women Premier League.

Alumira’s sentiments come in the wake of an aborted weekend league match against Nyuki Starlets on Saturday as most of the latter’s players were engaged in school duties hence not turning up for the match.

He said:  “It is so embarrassing for a team not honoring a match; we depend on those matches to gauge my players and to keep alive our dream of defending our title. We understand Nyuki is composed of young players most of them being high school students and so FKF should engage the respective head teachers to release them if need be.

Vihiga Queens stretched their lead in the KWPL to 12 points after hammering Mathare United women 8-0 at Bukhungu Stadium.  Harambee Starlets duo of Terry Engesha and Topister Akhonya scored four goals apiece in the rout.
