Saboti lawmaker Caleb Amisi has lashed out at Deputy President William Ruto over his frequent rants about President Uhuru Kenyatta’s reconciliation with opposition boss Raila Odinga.

The DP has hit the headlines over the last two weeks hitting out at the opposition boss alleging that he has used the handshake to wreak havoc in Jubilee Party.

While speaking to a local radio station, he advised the DP to dialogue with Uhuru other than besmirching Raila.

“He is part of the government and chairs cabinet sittings. He should take his concerns to the President with whom they are in office on the same ticket. It’s only this way that he can get his answers and not through insulting Raila,” said Amisi.

The Saboti MP also rubbished claims from Ruto’s camp that the handshake has done more harm than good, noting that it has been of great benefit to the nation.

Speaking in the company of the DP in West Pokot on Saturday, Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen said that the truce has further divided the nation.

However, Amisi has dismissed the claims.

“The nation was in a bad state before the two leaders reconciled but we can now see changes. People are working, things are calm and the economy is rising. These are all benefits of the handshake,” he added.
