CS Agriculture Mwangi Kiunjuri has said that the government will construct 31 dams before the heavy rains come.
The CS communicated the information to the country while addressing the media today together with President William Ruto.
Additionally, the CS has said that over 8,000 pans will be constructed by the government in the long-term to handle any subsequent droughts.

These statement comes as a surprise to many considering the Arror and Kimwarer dams have yet to be constructed and over 21 billion shillings has gone missing.
Here’s what netizens had to say about these comments:
Another “9 Stadia in 3 months” narrative for the current drought situation…850 million released to livestock farmers for insurance last week …8,000 water pans already constructed…Multi-agency team has been onto it since Jan…no deaths due to drought.. #Turkanadrought
