Uhuru Shows His Soft Side By Mourning CS Ukur Yatani’s Mother

President Uhuru Kenyatta has condoled with Labour Cabinet Secretary Ukur Yatani following the passing on of the latter’s mother Gumato Yatani.

In a condolence message of Sunday, March 17, Uhuru expressed his sympathies to the family and eulogised Gumato as a role model, teacher and matriarch who had raised and mentored many.

President Uhuru Kenyatta expressed his sympathies to Labour CS and his family following the passing on of Mama Gumato Yatani.

“Mama Gumato was a strong pillar to to the family. She was a respected member of her community. I convey my sympathies to family, relatives and friends during this moment of sorrow,” Uhuru said.
The Head of State eulogised Gumato as a gifted person .

“Her legacy will live on through many more generations to come,” he added.
Yatani served as the first Governor of Marsabit county between 2013 and 2017.

Uhuru later nominated him for the position of Labour CS where he was successfully vetted.

The CS was initially the Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Vienna besides serving as North Horr MP for one term from 2006.
