A woman came up with a creative way to stop her boyfriend straying on his birthday night out. Holly Cockerill purchased a novelty T-shirt for her partner Karl Hennan. The white tee featured a picture of her face on it, along with a hilarious message that would deter anyone from approaching him.
In a picture posted to Twitter, Karl posed in the joke top. A snap of Holly was emblazoned across his chest, along with a funny paragraph. The words read: “If you’re reading this you’ve been looking at my man for too long. “And this is how I’d be looking at you if I was here. “Hi I’m Holly, his GIRLFRIEND.”
Holly posted a picture of her partner on Twitter to her 8,000 followers – and it’s since racked up 11,000 likes. Most commenters thought the birthday present idea was genius. One wrote: “You’re hilarious and by the way I think your idea with the shirt was great.” Another said: “Twitter is the best for giving us these ideas.” But while many praised Holly, some branded her “insecure” for getting the T-shirt made up.
One said: “Toxic relationship 101.”
A second wrote: “I thought I was insecure but DAMN you’re a whole new level.”
Following the backlash, Holly defended the post and said it was clearly a joke.
