Why men and women lie in regards to bedroom matters

When it comes to love and sex, honesty is the best policy. But in practice we’re all guilty of telling a little white lie to spare our partner’s feelings from time to time. Some of us even tell bigger porkies about out sex lives for a variety of reasons. Now, people have confessed to these lies in a survey, and the difference between the lies men and women tell are fascinating.

The top untruth women tell is regarding the number of sexual partners they’ve had. A whopping 52% of women admit to reducing their number of past lovers when discussing it with a new love interest.

On the flip side increasing  the number of lovers they have was the fifth most common lie men admitted to. The top fib for men, with four out of ten admitting to peddling it, is claiming to never have been unfaithful.

The guilty fellas revealed this was because they assumed their previous infidelity might put off a prospective new partner. Both sexes confessed to having said “I love you” and not having meant it. But it ranked higher, at number 3, on the women’s list. The second highest lie for women was faking orgasms which, of course, was nowhere to be seen on the men’s list. The survey of 2,000 men and women, split evenly between the two, was conducted by IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s leading dating site for married people.
