UoN VC gives clarity on club 36 mourning Ragira as a ‘humble human being larger than himself’

Terror has moved from JKUAT university to University of Nairobi where a sad impact has been faced as a result of crime.

A politician who contested the Milimani ward seat as an independent candidate in 2017 was on Thursday night shot dead by goons at Club 36 market located opposite Nairobi Primary School.

Samuel Ragira alias OCS Ragira is reported to have met his death when he confronted the said goons who had been terrorizing traders at the “Klabu” market demanding money in exchange for stalls.

Mr Ragira, said to be a former University of Nairobi student, has been opposing the goons’ activities on social media until Thursday night when he stormed the area in solidarity with the traders.

Sources revealed that it is during the ugly confrontation that one of the irate youth allegedly shot Mr Ragira, killing him on the spot.

The Vice Chancellor of Nairobi University has taken to social media to clarify that club 36 is not University of Nairobi property and that it is run by people who are not UoN staff or students.

He further added that former students are not UoN students,that the expelled students are not theirs as well.This is as he cautioned that club 36 is a dangerous place that should be avoided.

About the deceased,he noted that Samuel Ragira was a humble human being,larger than himself expressing that they in mourning of his death.
