Khalwale applauds President Uhuru for nominating Mutyambai for IG

Former Kakamega senator Boni Khalwale has applauded President Uhuru Kenyatta for nominating Hillary Mutyambai for the Inspector general position.

This happens a day after President Uhuru gave out Hillary’s name as the best candidate to replace the former Inspector General Joseph Boinnet.

The nominated Inspector General is said to be among those people who contributed a lot when it comes to the Dusit2 attack.

The former inspector Joseph Boinnet left office a few days ago, after accomplishing his four-year term.

However, after his exit in the office, Mr. Boinnet was fortunate to be appointed as the new Cabinet Assistant Secretary of tourism.

Through his Twitter handle, Boni Khalwale praised Uhuru for the candidate that he chose and observed that the president didn’t do so based on tribal inclinations.

“Many a times tribe precedes merit, political patronage dwarfs qualifications and sacrifice for the nation goes unnoticed! Choosing Hillary Mutyambai (who coordinated rescue operations during the Dusit 2 terror attack) for IG is perfect. Kudos @UKenyatta for rewarding meritocracy.”

Boni Khalwale is one among few leaders who have reacted positively to the person nominated as the new Inspector general.

However, the nominated inspector general, Hillary Mutyambai, is yet to be vetted by Members of the parliament.
