These are the Sanitary Pads Ladies Should Avoid At all Costs – KEBS

The Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) has launched investigations that include extensive market surveillance and testing of sanitary towels in the Kenyan market to ascertain if there exists any breach of quality standards.

This follows an ongoing online discussions regarding low quality Always sanitary towels on the hashtag #MyAlwaysExperience.

In a statement Thursday, KEBS says sanitary towels are covered by KS EAS96-1:2018 East Africa Standard for Sanitary and the authority has in the course of quality surveillance drawn samples for analysis for all brands of sanitary towels on sale in Kenya.

“A total of 135 samples have been drawn from the market and after testing, 90% of all samples complied with the standard. Products that complied included the following variants of Always Sanitary Towels – Always ultra, Always platinum, Always maxi, Always ultra-normal, Always extra-long.” Said the statement

KEBS says the outcomes of analysis will determine the next cause of action including market withdrawal of any substandard products.
