What Wale’s national team coach, Ryan Giggs told struggling Gareth Bale and what he wants him to do

Gareth Bale is the most troubled man currently in Real Madrid after the coming of Zinedine Zidane to the club but his national coach Ryan Giggs believes the man has a lot to offer for the team and the national one as well.

Manchester United legend and Wales manager Ryan Giggs has tipped Gareth Bale to put uncertainty behind him when he joins up with the Welsh squad next week.

Zinedine Zidane’s return to Real Madrid has reignited speculation that Bale could leave the Santiago Bernabeu to complete a return to the Premier League, where United continued to be linked with a swoop.

Bale’s future in the Spanish capital became a huge talking point last year ahead of the Champions League final but Zidane’s departure provided an opportunity for the former Tottenham Hotspur star to prove his worth.

However, Los Blancos have struggled this season following Zidane’s exit and suffered a premature Champions League exit at the hands of Ajax, while Bale has been heckled by his own fans.

Despite that, Giggs believes Bale will encounter no problems when Wales begin their 2020 European Championship qualifying campaign next week, adding that criticism is something you have to deal with at a big club.

“He’s an experienced player. He’s a quality player and a quality person,” Giggs said.

“I expect Gareth to turn up and do what he always does, give everyone a lift. When he plays for Wales, he gives 100 per cent and more often than not he performs well.

“I don’t expect anything different because he’s always brilliant around the camp.

“I played for United and you are open to criticism when you are at a big club. Everyone has had it. The two Ronaldos had it out in Madrid, Gareth has had it.

“You have to put up with that, just like you have to put up with all the adulation when you win leagues and Champions Leagues. It comes with the territory. So you have to take the rough with the smooth.”
