Football Kenya Federation president Nick Mwendwa confirmed the money had been approved by Sports ministry
He said the amount would be deducted from the total budget of KSh 244 and balance would go towards preparations
Ruto was personally expected to pay the national football team the money as promised after they qualified for 2019 AFCON
Deputy President William Ruto’s debt of KSh 50 million owed to the national soccer team Harambee Stars will now be settled by the government and not the DP as an individual, TUKO.co.ke has learned.
The money which was to be given as a reward to Harambee Stars players after they qualified for the 2019 African Cup of Nations (AFCON), has reportedly been included in the Ministry of Sports approved budget for the national team.
