Earlier today, First Lady Margaret Kenyatta witnessed an open heart surgery during a tour to the Mater Misericordiae Hospital, in South B Nairobi.
The First Lady was making an official visit to the hospital when she got to interact with the health workers in the hospital and also got to explore and experience the day to day activities.
The State House Reports indicate that the hospital runs a Cardiac Program that targets people from economically disadvantaged background, majority of them children .
The hospital has scheduled heart surgeries for 10 children, in partnership with the Slovak and Czech Republics
The First Lady has been in the frontline to play a key role in achieving the vision of ensuring that Kenyans can access affordable health care services.
Her visit shows the level of efforts and commitment to the course.
