It’s about Real Madrid and not Christiano Ronaldo; Zizou responds amidst Ronaldo transfer back

It was not a easy thing finding the next man to take over Real Madrid with the fans chanting Mourinho’s name who was seen the likely manager and Zinedine saying he was not ready, but that is no more.

Real Madrid’s returning manager Zinedine Zidane had barely got comfortable during his unveiling on Monday before the topic turned to Cristiano Ronaldo .

The Spanish giants have reappointed the Frenchman as coach on a three-year deal following the sacking of Santiago Solari, after the European champions’ season collapsed inside a week.

Zidane won an unprecedented three consecutive Champions League titles with the club before resigning in May last year, with his replacement Julen Lopetegui sacked in October and Solari lasting just over four months in charge.

Ronaldo played a pivotal part during Zidane’s successful first spell before also leaving last summer, the Portuguese star opting to join Juventus , and he has been immediately linked with a return to the Bernabeu.

But Zidane remained coy on the potential return of a player who scored 450 goals in 438 games for Real, and instead wants to focus on the remaining games of this campaign.

“That is not today’s issue,” he said. “We have 11 games to play, then we will see for next year. We all know Cristiano, one of the best players in this club’s history.

“But today is not for talking about these things. I am not thinking yet about that. The most important thing is to be back at the club, and I am just thinking now about these 11 games.

“We will have time to look at the rest, with the appropriate people, then we will plan for next season.”

Madrid were eliminated from the Champions League in the last 16 by Ajax last Tuesday after two Clasico defeats by Barcelona , knocking Real out of the Copa del Rey and leaving them 12 points adrift of the Catalan Liga leaders.

Solari, a former Real Madrid and Argentina midfielder who took over at the Bernabeu on November 13, had replaced former Spain manager Lopetegui but failed to bring success to the Bernabeu.

Real had won the Champions League for three straight seasons under Zidane but lost 4-1 at home to Ajax to go out 5-3 on aggregate, their earliest exit since 2006.
