Manchester United have always shown a willingness to give youth a chance – whatever the circumstance.
One player benefitting from that right now is Andreas Pereira. The super-talented Brazilian put in a superb performance to inspire United’s comeback at home to Southampton, before playing a key role away in Paris.
Now, he has gotten his rewards as The Mirror report that United have activated a twelve-month extension clause within his contract – as Pereira would have walked away from Old Trafford this coming summer.

Honestly, this is the least he deserves. Under Jose Mourinho, Pereira was used sparingly in a deeper role which obviously didn’t suit him. When the Baby Faced Assassin took charge, the Brazilian was played further up the field and it was doing him the world of good.
Is he a regular starter at United? Probably not, but Pereira has the talent to make an impact as a squad or rotational option. I don’t think that can be denied any longer.

If the confidence continues to grow, don’t be surprised to see him see plenty more minutes on the field from now until the season’s end – even after key players return from injuries.
Congratulations on getting an extra year at United, Andreas!
