Celtic have been linked with a move for Chelsea defender Tomas Kalas, as they look to strengthen their squad in the summer.

The Hoops currently have two loan signings in Filip Benkovic and Jeremy Toljan in their squad, and the duo are expected to return to their parent club at the end of the season.

Dedryck Boyata is also likely to leave the club once his contract expires in the summer, which would leave Celtic short of options at the back, and according to a report by the Daily Record, they are eyeing Kalas as a replacement.

The fans have called for the club to spend some money in the summer transfer window, and considering Celtic’s defence has looked a bit wobbly this season, we might see more additions.

Kalas is currently on a season-long loan spell at Bristol City, and is due to return to Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.

Tomas Kalas – Fact File
The 25-year old had an impressive beginning at Chelsea under former manager Jose Mourinho, and had a hand in the Blues stopping Liverpool from winning the Premier League in 2014.

However, his career hasn’t gone as planned as he hasn’t been able to break into the Chelsea senior team and has had to play elsewhere on loan to get regular playing time.

Kalas has had loan spells at four different clubs since making his debut in 2014, and it doesn’t seem like he is in Maurizio Sarri’s plans for the future, so despite Chelsea’s upcoming transfer ban, he might leave should a solid offer come in.

So far this season, Kalas has made 26 appearances for Bristol City, and has played a key role for the Robbins in their promotion chase.
