As president Uhuru Kenyatta continues to fight the war against graft some leaders still feels that the president is attacking aparticular community most associated to his Deputy President William Ruto.
However some leaders disagree with the claim. According to Nyeri Town Member of Parliament Ngunjiri Wambugu the claims by a section of DP Ruto’s ally on the ongoing war against graft is not meant to target anyone or any community.
While taking to his social media facebook page,Ngunjiri wrote, “NO ONE IS TARGETING KALENJINS Kalenjin political leaders led by the DP, Sudi, Kipchumba etc; would like us to believe that this corruption fight is targeting the Kalenjin.For the record out of the 115 Kenyans charged in court on corruption cases so far; 43 are Kikuyus, 18 Luos, 11 Kalenjins, 6 Kambas, 6 Merus, 5 Kisiis, etc. This story of Kalenjin leaders trying to play victim and lying to their community that the Kalenjins are being targeted is complete BS! Total #Upuz! No one is after Kalenjins … or Kikuyus … or Luos … or Kambas … or Kisiis … or Boranas … or any community. His remanrks came following a section of DP ruto’s ally claiming that the president together with his counterpart AU Envoy Raila Odinga are targeting DP Ruto’s community.
This was after a number of his close people including CS Henry Rotich and other Kalenjin state official were implicated in the ongoing dam scandal which saw Ksh 21 billion get lost meant to construct the Arror and Kimwarer Dams in Elgeyo ,Marakwet.
