Following a storm that was a fallout between two gospel artists, Gospel singer Bahati has finally opened up with his side of the story his friend and former EMB records signee Mr Seed.
Mr Seed and his fiancée Nimo Gachuiri have been quite vocal since the Kumbe Kumbe hitmaker left Bahati’s record label.
There were reports that Bahati had turned on the artist by failing to pay him, while other EMB records rebels claimed Bahati’s wife Diana Marua played a big role in his sudden shift in priorities.
Weeks have flown by since the explosive allegations and while Bahati has never taken to address the issue directly, he decided to address the topic of falling out with artists on Sunday, March 10.
According to Bahati, media had painted him in nasty light whilst he had sacrificed a lot just to get some of the artists to where they are today.
“Most of these artists I support, I meet them in conditions of life you cannot reveal. Some are even homeless. The fact is in Kenya, when you hear Someone has been signed it’s not really a Signing but it’s just like taking the position of a parent in their lives,” he explained.
He goes on to refute claims that he owes any of the artists any money, adding that the situation is quite the contrary.
“One of the things I’ll tell you now is according to the records as I write this there’s no single artist signed under #EMB that is not owed by EMB a few Millions (And I actually Forgave them Coz saying this in the Most Humble Way, none of these can pay me because music takes time to pay,” he went on.
His sentinents were the exact antithesis of what Mr Seed was grieving about because Seed claimed Bahati owed him a significant amount of money which consequently made him struggle to cater for his girl Nimo who has since given birth to a healthy baby boy.
One thing which is for certain is Bahati enjoys quite a handsome following which has at times led to hundreds of upcoming artists reaching out to him for help to make it in the jungle that is the Kenyan music scene.
