In what was a display of opulence class and wherewithal, firebrand Mombasa Governor’s niece wedded her long-time fiance in an all-star affair at the coast.
Kulthum Abubakar, daughter of Abubakar Joho (Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho’s elder brother), was wedded to Haikal Omar in an elegant invite-only event over the weekend.
The Nikah-Islamic wedding was held at Musjid Ummu-Kulthum in Kizingo, Mombasa.
Several high key politicians, as well as celebrities, made the exclusive list, key among them, African Union (AU) envoy, Raila Odinga, and Nairobi Governor, Mike Sonko Mbuvi.
Kilifi County Governor, Amason Kingi, and former Mombasa County gubernatorial candidate, Suleiman Shahbal, were also present at the lavish wedding.
“The Rt. Hon. Raila Amollo Odinga my colleagues H.E Amason Kingi, H.E Mike Sonko and other leaders joined my family in celebrating the union of my niece Kulthum Abubakar and the love of her life Haikal Omar Osogo,” stated an excerpt of Governor Joho’s social media post.
Raila and Sonko were both donned in white Kanzus to mark the jovial event.
A-list musicians, Willy Paul, Ommy Dimpoz and Ali Kiba were among the artists who got the coveted invite to attend the posh ceremony.
The Mombasa governor, nicknamed Sultan for his glitz and glamour, caused a stir last year when he appeared at Tanzanian musician Ali Kiba’s Nikah and went on to host the afterparty at his mansion in Vipingo Ridge, Kilifi.
Governor Joho wished his newly-wed niece the best after her nuptials.
