Governor Sonko-Ksh 100,000 offered to anyone who will find woman who tried to kill newborn baby

Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko has offered to pay KSh 100,000 to anyone who will help locate a woman accused of strangling and dumping her newborn baby.

The legislator shared photos of a baby who was rescued by good Samaritans with a rope tied around its neck.

According to a Facebook post shared by Sonko, the baby was first taken to Mukuru Kwa Reuben Maternity hospital for treatment.

“I have been saddened by a woman who delivered a bouncing baby boy and abandoned him after tying the baby with a tight rope around the neck,” the governor said.

However, when doctors realised the little one’s life was in danger, they transferred the boy to Mama Lucy Hospital for specialised treatment.

According to the governor, the baby is not in good shape and the case has already been reported to the authorities.

“The matter has been reported to the police under OB Number 32/9/3/2019,” he added.

Sonko said the woman who committed the heinous act should have asked for help instead of trying to murder the baby boy.

He vowed to bring the culprit to justice for not caring about the welfare of her little one.

“Let us pray for the baby to survive and live to achieve the purpose God created him for,” the leader said.
