Possible Salary of Solskjaer Who is Few Seconds Away From Being Full Time United Boss

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be appointed Manchester United’s full-time manager — on half the money of his predecessor Jose Mourinho.

Caretaker boss Solskjaer is set to be confirmed as United’s permanent boss on an annual salary of £7.5million. Managerial rock-star Mourinho, sacked last December, was getting a huge £15m-a-year.

United’s epic 3-1 Champions League win away to Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday, which put them through to the last eight despite losing the first leg 2-0, confirmed the view of the Old Trafford board that Solskjaer is the man to lead them long-term.

And the players joined in the adulation, with full-back Luke Shaw saying: “We all love Ole and we love the job he’s done so far. I don’t think I need to say much after all these results, it looks certain [Solskjaer will get the job]

“We’re enjoying everything that’s going on at the moment and the results have shown that.

“That’s nine away wins in a row now and that shows what Ole and his staff have done. Long may that continue.

“It sums up what the mood is like in the camp now and that’s a big plus for the boss and what he’s done in this period of time and how much he’s changed things around. We’ve got so much more to look forward to.”

With just one defeat in 17 games and nine straight away wins, including victories at Tottenham , Arsenal , Chelsea and PSG, Solskjaer has pushed Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino, his only rival for the Old Trafford hot-seat, out of the frame.

It is understood the 46-year-old Norwegian is willing to accept a far less lucrative package than Mourinho to land his dream job of managing United full-time.

Former United striker Solskjaer was on a salary of around £400,000-a-year at Molde back home before being made United’s caretaker boss in December following Mourinho’s sacking.

As well as that basic salary, his contract is likely to include hefty bonus clauses related to United’s position in the Premier League table and whether they win trophies under him.

United have yet to confirm Solskjaer’s permanent appointment but his coaching staff and the squad know it is now only a matter of time before he gets the nod.

When Mourinho was axed, the Reds were 11 points off fourth place, with their season in turmoil.

Solskjaer has turned their campaign around in less than three months.

He has closed the gap on fourth-placed Arsenal to a single point and reached the quarter-finals of both the Champions League and FA Cup.

Skipper Ashley Young echoed Shaw when he said: “If you’re looking from the outside you’d say ‘Why not?’ He’s been fantastic since he’s come in, a breath of fresh air.”
