The Spaniard had a tremendous performance for the Blues tonight. He was named in the starting eleven this evening and he proved exactly why he deserves his place. 17 minutes were on the clock and Pedro took the lead confidently for the Blues.

A stylish double nutmeg lead up to the goal with help off former team mate Olivier Giroud. The 31-year-old midfielder had a lively, sharp tempo to his game tonight and that was consistently shown throughout the 90 minutes. However, despite a good performance he could have had a hat-trick so he did miss a few opportunities.

However, towards the end of the game Pedro helped out with Callum-Hudson Odoi’s goal with a strong cross ball which fell to the feet of Ruben Loftus Cheek. The Spaniard not only had a great individual performance tonight but he also helped out the team very well collectively.

By far the most energetic and electrifying player on the pitch, making some superb runs and having the best chances, getting a decent goal in the first half.

The most frustrating thing, however, will be that he didn’t convert his other chances. He could have killed off the tie on his own, having four shots on target but all too easy for Boyko to save. However, a stunning ball for the third goal
