Michael Jackson’s daughter has addressed the allegations made in documentary Leaving Neverland
Michael Jackson’s 20-year-old daughter Paris Jackson has waded into the child sex abuse debate that has been provoked following the airing of controversial documentary Leaving Neverland.
The day after Paris said that she was yet to make a statement on the allegations made by Wade Robson, 36, and James Safechuck, 40, in Dan Reed’s documentary, she has now defended her father’s legacy and called the revelations ‘lies’.
Until now, Paris had only directly addressed the situation by tweeting, “I actually haven’t made any statements yet, especially regarding how it affects my work life,” in reply to media reports that she had broken her silence.
It seems that enough was enough though and Paris decided that she need to give her two penneth as the King of Pop’s name is dragged through the mud by those who have claimed that they were sexually abused by the singer.
It took a tweet from a fan to Paris for her to start a passionate defence of her father.
In a tweet directed to Paris, the fan wrote: “The bigger picture is your father’s legacy ruined and his name smeared forever but whatever though.”
Paris shot back at them and labelled the allegations as “tabloids and lies”. She tweeted: “So….not love and peace and trying to carry that message out? tabloids and lies are the bigger picture? I’ll pray for you.”
The Jacko fan pushed it further, replying: “No, they want to tear his name down and stop playing his music but it’s cool like who cares that he died for this.”
Paris replied with a passionate defence of her father and shared that his legacy wouldn’t be besmirched by the allegations.
She wrote: “Yeah they do that to everyone with a good heart and tries to make a difference but do you really think that it’s possible to tear his name down?
“Like do you truly believe they stand a chance? relax and have peace.”
Michael Jackson’s family have strenuously denied all of the allegations and Jackie Jackson has previously said the claims are “devastating”.
