The former Jubilee interim David Murathe is not ready to stop the fight to have DP Ruto out of the 2022 presidential race.
In this effort the former Gatanga Member of Parliament has now hired ODM member and Raila’s lawyer James Orengo and Senior councel John Khaminwa to advice him at the Constitutional court on whether it is right for DP William Ruto can run for President come 2022.
In his statement he said,“We are not going to the Supreme Court. Instead, we are going to the Constitutional Court first.”
According to Murathe, DP Ruto is unfit to be the next president of Kenya.
Murathe has already obtained a preliminary opinion from the lawyers who have told him that there is a highly viable and persuasive argument that the DP is barred from the 2022 race.
The lawyers argue that the DP is elected into office ‘indirectly’ by virtue of being the running mate of the President.
