Klopp issues positive injury updates on Joe Gomez and Dejan Lovren

Even though Liverpool has got the most clean sheets in the Premier League, at times their defence has been somewhat of a Frankenstein’s Monster this season but it seems some consistency may be on the horizon.

They’ve had James Milner playing right back and Joel Matip filling in for the injured Joe Gomez and Dejan Lovren. The Cameroon international has played so well – in fact – that he’s likely given Jurgen Klopp something to think about.

But it’s good news for the Reds now as the manager has issued some positive updates on the fitness of Gomez and Lovren during a press conference at Melwood.

Klopp confirmed that Lovren had trained for the first time yesterday since getting injured, so we can expect our number six to return to first team football any game now.

According to the boss, Lovren is actually no longer injured it’t just a case of building up his match fitness.

Speaking about Gomez, Klopp confirmed that the young defender is now up and running with “100% of his weight” which can only be a good thing for his fitness.

The boss did mention that it wouldn’t be until after the international break that we can expect to see anything of Gomez but said that we’ll have to wait and see with Lovren.
