‘He would beat me up and step on my back and they did not care,’ woman shares her in-laws experience

A 23-year-old woman from Mtwapa area, Kilifi county, was shocked after finding her ex-lover hiding under her bed in the middle of the night.

Munira Mwajuma said the ex-flame, Joam Mohammed, entered the house and hid under the bed when she had gone out for shopping.

Mwajuma told the media that she was terrified by the incident wondering how a man who used to abuse her while they were still living together as a couple could appear in her house in the wee hours.

“He begged me to remain quiet but I could not. I screamed and people came to my aid compelling him to run away unhurt,” she said.

The two had been married for five years before partying ways following unresolved family disputes.

The lady alleged the ex had been trolling her for sometime and occasionally showed up at her place and peeped through the window to see what she was doing.

“There was a time when he occasionally kept appearing behind the house, peeping through the window, prompting me to report the matter to the police,” said Mwajuma.

She recalled how her ex-hubby’s family members accused her of infidelity and could do nothing to protect her whenever she was abused and mistreated by Mohammed.

“My husband kept abusing me, calling me all sorts of names like the local prostitute, accusing me of sleeping with men I don’t even know,” said a disappointed Mwajuma.

“It pained me that their son was abusive, yet they took no action. He would beat me up and step on my back and the only thing they said was those were our affairs,” she said.

The couple had one child during their marriage. The stalker ex-husband, Mwajuma claimed, even refused to take responsibility for their child.
