The massive club banger Boasty’s video by the godfather of Grime Wiley, British rapper Stefflon Don, Jamaican artist Sean Paul featuring Multi talented People’s ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ for 2018 Idris Elba has finally dropped!
This epic video comprising of one of the most diverse collaborations doesn’t actually feature Wiley in the video. His part is played by child-actor Brooklyn Appiah. The scenes alternate between all the different artists competing for screen space with punchy hooks over a catchy beat with the lyrics trying to prove who indeed is the boasty-est.
The star studded video was shot in London by director Henry Scholfield who said:
“I liked this idea of the artists crumpling, folding, or stomping on each other to bring us from one to the next. It had a kinda vibe of bigupmanship and to say it was a shoot to remember would be a bit of an understatement. What a killer quartet of awesome artists.”
After reading the directors treatment behind the video, you will find yourself replaying the video to watch the segway from one artist to the next. It’s really creatively put together. Another notable aspect of the video is the styling of the artists and extra’s. There is no shortage of edgy outfits, colorful hair, big bling and makeup on fleek! We predict a dance move hashtag emanating from this banger.
The greatest surprise in this collaboration however was Idris Elba, the actor and deejay began teasing his rapping skills in Boasty in January. He recited his lyrics in Jamaican patois to highlight the island’s underrated influence on London’s music scene. After Deejaying at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding his next notable gig will be in April when he is scheduled to perform a set at the Coachella Festival.
If the audio was anything to go by, the video is predicted to experience a similar if not greater success.
