United Boss Seizes Every Opportunity, See Where He Has Shifted His Attention

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has warned his Manchester United players that they must quickly turn their attentions to this weekend’s Premier League showdown with Arsenal.

The Red Devils will take on their top-four rivals still on a high from their mid-week heroics in Europe.

Despite being 2-0 down on aggregate going into the second leg of their Champions League last 16 clash with a heavily-fancied Paris Saint-Germain side, United won 3-1 last night to progress to the quarter finals on away goals.

Romelu Lukaku continued his goalscoring streak with a first-half brace before Marcus Rashford fired a 94th-minute VAR-awarded penalty past Gianluigi Buffon to put United into the next round.

That was despite Solskjaer missing 10 players, including the suspended Paul Pogba and injured quartet Anthony Martial, Jesse Lingard, Nemanja Matic and Ander Herrera.

United’s players were understandably elated with what will go down in the club’s history as one of their best ever results in the continent’s premier competition as the players shared footage of their dressing-room celebrations on social media.

And while Solskjaer – who has now won 14 of 17 matches as caretaker manager – acknowledges the players should soak in the delight of such a win, he insists they must get their feet back on the ground in time for the weekend.

United travel to the Emirates to take on Arsenal with the chance to go four points clear of the north London outfit with what would then be just eight games left of the season.

Solskjaer’s charges beat the Gunners 3-1 in the FA Cup fourth round in January but in the league, Unai Emery’s Arsenal are unbeaten in their last 14 home league games, winning all of the last eight.

Asked by United legend Gary Neville if he had already began to bring his players back down in a post-match interview after the PSG win, Solskjaer told his former team-mate: “Yeah of course. You’ve got Arsenal.

“We’ve got the biggest game for us. We need to be among the top four when the season finishes.

“We’ve been down there earlier on in the FA Cup so we know how hard it’s going to be.

“Now of course they’ll have to enjoy this.
