Sad! Man chops off wife’s private parts and tongue in chilling Kakamega murder

Shock and grief engulfed Mutaho village, in Ikolomani, Kakamega County after a man descended on his wife and gruesomely ended her life.

Obedi Mitalo, 32, is said to have ended Carolyne Anota’s life after a domestic brawl and was busted while on his way to dispose of the body at an abandoned quarry.

The body, according to witnesses, had the private parts and the tongue chopped off. “I saw him walking towards the abandoned goldmine field but I never imagined he was on a mission to dispose off the body,” said one of the villagers who waylaid Mitalo.

The suspect is being held at Malinya Police Station as detectives dig deeper in the case.

Mary Makuto, mother to the deceased, was still reeling in shock after observing the body. “I could not identify her at first because her head had been scalded by what appears to be acid, the lips together with the tongue had been chopped off and other several parts of the body dismembered,” she said.

Makuto demanded that police expedite investigations and have the suspect prosecuted.

Elsewhere, a body of a middle age man was discovered abandoned along Kambi Mwanza – Ingavira road in Malava sub-county.

Joseph Molenje is said to have been in sound health before his lifeless body was found along the road. The deceased’s wife, Stella Joseph said the husband left home a jovial person.

Area assistant chief Tom Shirutsi confirmed the incident appealing to locals to remain calm and assist the police with investigations into the incident. Police officers who arrived at the scene took the body to Kakamega County Referral Hospital Mortuary.
