Man United went head-to-head with Ligue 1 outfit PSG on Wednesday evening in Paris.

United came into the game knowing they would have to score at least two to stand any chance of qualifying for the second leg.

Things got off to a great start for Manchester United as Romelu Lukaku gave them the lead at the Parc des Princes inside two minutes.

Juan Bernat would pull one back for PSG just 10 minutes later but Lukaku was on hand in the 30th minute to once again gave United the lead.

Lukaku has now scored a brace in his last three games for United.

After a first-half brace from the Belgian Man United needed just one goal to qualify for the quarter-finals.

It would be PSG, however, who had the better of the chances in the second half with Angel Di Maria having the ball in the back of the Man United net before it was ruled out for offside.

United would continue to press PSG late in the game though and their persistence was eventually rewarded

The ball would strike off Presnel Kimpembe’s hand inside the PSG penalty area.

The original decision was just a Man United corner.

However, VAR would once again have a huge say on the match with the referee reviewing the incident and deeming Kimpembe to have handled the ball.

Marcus Rashford would step up to convert the proceeding penalty.

While United fans will no doubt now be huge fans of VAR, the decision to give a penalty for the supposed handball has been causing some debate online.
