Liverpool May Have Already Found A New No.10 For Next Season

After the Reds saw a proposed deal for Lyon’s Nabil Fekir collapse last June, Liverpool never returned for an attacking midfielder to the dismay of supporters.

Philippe Coutinho was seemingly never replaced after his £142million switch to Barcelona in January 2017.

During their recent dip which has seen them draw five matches in their last seven games in all competitions, Liverpool have been crying out for some invention and creativity from midfield.

Xherdan Shaqiri was seen as a quick-fix and an alternative to Fekir but he has spent the majority of his time at Anfield on the bench behind Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.

It’s clearly a problem that Klopp will look to address this summer, but he may not even have to delve into the transfer market.

Harry Wilson has hit ten goals in 29 matches in the Championship this season which are hugely impressive numbers for a 21-year-old, only Firmino, Mane and Salah have more for the Reds meaning he’d fit right in.

The Welshman is also an expert from a dead-ball and Liverpool have lacked quality from set-pieces of late, wasting a number of free-kicks from dangerous positions.

Klopp has spoke openly and in high praise of Wilson, revealing that he is keeping close tabs on his progress with Derby County.

“I’m really happy about what Harry is doing. It’s fantastic. It’s a perfect example for it sometimes being really good to leave home to show up somewhere else,” he told Liverpool’s website.

“I really think Harry left in the right moment. Since I was in everybody told me Harry Wilson needed to go on loan. He scored a lot of goals for the U23s already.

“He went last year to Hull, he was already good. He came back, pre-season was pre-season, and he went to Derby and now he is with Frank [Lampard]. It’s really nice the job Frank is doing there, it is outstanding. England has a lot of good young managers, that’s cool.”
