Just like the head of state is struggling to leave a great strong legacy despite his regime being marked by high rates of corruption,so is Echesa the sports cabinet secretary Uhuru Kenyatta let go during the recent reshuffle.
Immediate former Sports Cabinet Secretary Rashid Echesa, on Thursday, vowed to follow through a pledge he had made before being axed from the sports ministry.
According to Citizen TV, the troubled former CS promised to ensure that AFC leopard are paid their dues amounting to Kshs 1.7 million.
In February, 2019, the last month Echesa served before getting fired, he promised the troubled team from Western Kenya that he would ensure the Ministry of Sports settled their outstanding player allowances.
He further revealed that he made the promise as a CS and that the money must be settled.
“I talked on behalf of the government and the money will still be issued to the club. I will follow up it up with my colleague CS Amina (Mohamed) and ensure that they get their money.
