Esther Passaris Condemns technology assisted violence against Women

Earlier today, the Nairobi Women Rep Esther Passaris attend a forum on
National dialogue on strategies of mitigating technology assisted violence against women event.

Some of the top women in leadership were also part of this event and together they held successful discussions and gave recommendations on how to kick out violence against women.

Esther Passaris during the event condemned Tech assisted violence against Women saying that it is a concerted effort to censor women who are vocal and hyper visible.

She also added that It leads to loss of privacy, prejudice, emotional and reputational harm as it widens the digital gender gap.

The Nairobi Women Rep recommended that the Penal Code should be  revised to create a provision with a rider for an aggrevated level where technology is used to commit offences.

She also gave a call that the Sexual Offenses Act 2006 should include cyber stalking, online harassment & distribution of offensive material

Esther Passaris also tips for women leaders on the internet urging them to choose their friends wisely,stay safe and use the block button often.
