Arati now calls for harsh penalties to corrupt leaders

ODM’s member of Parliament for Dagoretti North Simba Arati has called for more harsh penalties for individuals involved in corruption deals.

While speaking in Radio interview the vocal legislator said, there should be a law that will subject convicts to open punishment at public squares in the full glare of Kenyans.

“Let the first five convicts be dragged to the park and given serious punishment. I am sure that way other people planning to loot public coffers will rethink their plans,” he said.

His remarks came a time when the Ksh 21 billion dam scandal is under investigation where influential individuals have been mentioned including Treasury CS Henry Rotich.

Rotich who have since been grilled at the DCI is now set to answer to charges for mismanaging public funds.
