Military deployment at JKIA met with equal criticism

The transport Cabinet Secretary deployed officers from Kenya Air Force to help in ‘screening’ passengers.

The move was prompted by striking airport workers who downed their tools early this morning following disagreements with their bosses.

The move to send the military was met with equal criticism by Kenyans. Some saw it as a cover up for corruption.

Others expressed anticipation in seeing how the military would run the airport.

Some saw it completely unnecessary to deploy the soldiers in civilian matters
