The Jomo Kenyatta crisis is set to drag for a whole month as nothing but talks take place in the mystery business deal that has already pushed workers to the edge.

This follows the strike by Kenya Aviation Workers Union (KAWU) that has halted operations at the airport leaving thousands of passengers stranded since midnight.

Labour CS Ukur Yattani has formed a conciliation committee to steer talks between the Kenya Aviation Workers Union and the Kenya Airports Authority.

The CS says the three-member team should report back to him within 30 days.

The committee will be chaired by Shariff Abdulkadir Shariff who will be assisted by Dr Justus Nasirembe and Linus Kariuki.

“I call upon the union to call off the strike and resume work as ordered by the court without further delay,” Yattani said.

The transport Cabinet Secretary James Macharia on the other has crossed paths with citizens after calling the union strikers ‘criminals’ claiming their strike is illegal.
