What CJ Maraga thinks of Magoha ahead of parliament vetting

Following President Uhuru Kenyatta’s nomination of Professor George Magoha to head the ministry of Education, the head of judiciary, Chief Justice David Maraga has also had to express his two cents on the nomination.

CJ Maraga said on Saturday that the candidate did not need parliamentary approval and that his only hurdle was passing the examination by the education committee.

“Many Kenyans are of the opinion that Prof Magoha doesn’t need Parliament to be cleared. I also support that,” he said at Egerton University’s Njoro campus.

This is as the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) chair Magoha, is expected to be vetted by parliament’s education committee in 21 days, to replace Amina Mohamed, who has been moved to the Sports docket.
