After Sonko’s drama during the Blue Economy Conference where he put leaders on bill boards who later came to haunt him over his reasons has yet again come up with unforeseen Billboard rules.
“Impunity must come to an end. The Nairobi City County Government today initiated a process to remove all billboards and outdoor advertising structures that have been erected without approval in accordance with the Nairobi City County Outdoor Advertising Act 2018.”
The following are some of the rules he has listed.
I want to remind outdoor advertising firms that some of the agreements reached between the county government and the firms are as follows;
1. No one shall erect any advertising structure within the county without first seeking and being granted approval by the Nairobi City County Government.
2. Every billboard and outdoor advertising structures must be well branded so that the owner is easily identified, failure to which such structures shall be removed.
3. All billboards should not exceed the maximum dimension of 10 by 12 meters.
4. Companies with approval to erect single-sided billboards cannot convert them to become double-sided billboards without first seeking and obtaining approval from the County Government.
