Ever heard of a case where the hunter became the hunted? Well, late Lawyer Robert Chesang’s wife, who is a Senior Principal Magistrate is finding the going rough following her alleged involvement in the gruesome murder of her husband at their matrimonial home in Lukenya, Machakos County.

Following her arrest on Sunday, Pauline Omungala was on Monday Presented in Court only for a Legal Shocker to fall on her.

The Court ordered that she be remanded for Nine days pending completion of Investigations into the murder.

Omungala’s husband Robert Chesang’ was shot seven times in their upscale Lukenya home on February 17.

Omungala and her co-accused, Lawrence Lempesi, Peter Mbithi and Alex Wanyama, appeared in Mavoko law courts.

Lempesi is a retired senior NIS officer. Mbithi and Wanyama are police officers at Mutuini police post, Riruta, Kiambu county.

They appeared before principal magistrate Elvis Micheka. The magistrate ordered the accused to be returned to court on February 12.

This even as his lawyer Hassan Nyakundi protested the move saying that it is an infringement to her constitutional rights.

Nyakundi noted that Omungala was also adversely affected by her husband’s murder and that detaining her would also have adverse effects on her two children.

The Court could however hear none of that as Justice Elvis Micheka stood his ground.
