Manchester United have accidentally named a pre-season tour squad of America for their Champions League last-16 second leg against PSG.

United face PSG at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday in the forlorn hope of overcoming a 2-0 first-leg deficit away from home.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed earlier this week that the club were likely to be without up to ten players for the game, and United’s squad for the game confirmed their worst fears.

Anthony Martial, Nemanja Matic, Phil Jones, Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata, Ander Herrera, Alexis Sanchez, Antonio Valencia, Matteo Darmian and Paul Pogba are all unavailable, with United naming eight academy graduates in a 20-man squad.

David de Gea, Sergio Romero and Lee Grant take their usual places as the world’s best “goalkeeping department”.

Victor Lindelof is likely to play a key role in France, with Eric Bailly, Diogo Dalot, Marcos Rojo, Luke Shaw, Chris Smalling and Ashley Young also travelling.

A ravaged midfield means Fred, Scott McTominay and Andreas Pereira are likely to start the game, with Romelu Lukaku and Marcus Rashford potentially leading the line.

But the absences have forced Solskjaer into naming defender Brandon Williams, midfielder James Garner and wingers Angel Gomes and Tahith Chong in his squad.

Forward Mason Greenwood could also feature.
