‘Acha vitisho za matanga, enda DCI’ Uhuru warns Tanga Tanga Team

'Report me to DCI,' Uhuru tells politicians accusing him of stealing property

President Uhuru Kenyatta has fired back at some of the politicians who have been mentioning his name at funerals to go to report him to the DCI if they think he has stolen public resources.

‘Niliona Mwingine akisema sijui nimeiba mali ya nani. Mimi Namwambia, wewe tembea hapa Karura forest hapa. Enda useme Uhuru kile ameiba. Shida iko wapi jameni? Acha kutishatisha watu kwa mazishi kwa sababu yule mtu amekufa hatakusaidia. Yule mtu atakusaidia ni DCI”

Uhuru was speaking at the opening ceremony of the 6th Devolution Conference in Kerinyaga on Tuesday.

Last year, Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi had dared Uhuru to lead as an example by having his father’s wealth audited.

“I support the lifestyle audit call and I am happy the president has offered to go first. I urge him to let the audit cover not only him but be extended back to his family tree to the era of his fore bearer Mzee Jomo so that other leaders follow suit,” The outspoken MP said in the wake of calls for a lifestyle audit.

The corruption debate has taken centre stage in recent times with members of the Tanga Tanga team arguing that they’re being targeted for political reasons.
