Very bad… The extent of Man United’s Sanchez injury revealed

Reports: The Extent of Alexis Sanchez injury is revealed and it is bad news Manchester United

Alexis Sanchez has been ruled out for up to eight weeks due to a knee ligament damage according to the Mirror.   The out-of-form Chilean limped off in United’s 3-2 win over Southampton on Saturday after picking up the painful knock. He underwent treatment and was instantly withdrawn, with United immediately fearing ligament damage to leave doubts over his hopes of playing again this season.

“We don’t know yet, it might be ligaments,” interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admitted after the game on Saturday.  “We’ll give him a scan tomorrow.” Indeed, he has now undergone that scan to determine the full extent of that injury – and it’s bad news for United.

According to reports from Chile’s El Mercurio, the former Arsenal star, who has struggled for form at United, has been ruled out for between six to eight weeks. El Mercurio spoke to Chilean doctor Pedro Onate, who claimed that the star has suffered a medial ligament injury in his right knee but should be fit in time for Chile’s attempt to win the Copa America in Brazil this summer.

The report said: “There’s no problem for Alexis playing in the Copa America because he’ll be out for between six and eight weeks. “A medial ligament injury is annoying but not as complex.” Sanchez has only managed 23 appearances for the Red Devils this season and has been started just eight times in the Premier League.
